Born John Johnson in New Orleans, Louisiana to a family with two brothers and two sisters, one of which is a sports talk radio personality in New Orleans, Johnson studied at London’s Central School of Speech and Drama. Johnson has won awards in the past for stage performances, making his stage debut in April 2007 as Richard Nixon's Chief of Staff Jack Brennan in Frost/Nixon.
